Our day started at 526am, a mere 4 hours of sleep for the second night in a row! Jet lag is real folks and it becomes SUPER REAL with three kids under the age of 10 who have never experienced it before. Ha! But when you’re given lemons you make lemonade right? Or in our case, you set off for an event filled 10-hour day exploring Paris and manage to walk 7.4 miles, over 17k steps, and climb 24 flights of stairs (thanks Sacre Coeur & Montmartre neighborhood) in the process! Croque Monsieur

We’ve arrived in Paris and wasted no time exploring and getting to know the neighborhood around our hotel. The croque monsieur has officially surpassed the cheeseburger according to Wyatt. We stumbled upon the Sorbonne and the statue recognizing one of the greatest French philosophers and close in name to our very own Augustus!! Au Revoir, Auf Wiedersehen, Arrivederci!!

And we’re off! Made it through check in and security in under 15 minutes and amazingly my upset stomach immediately cured itself. I wonder why . . . Ha! Thanks Amber for getting us all here safely. It’s absolutely bonkers to think that we are here at the airport, a mere 45 minutes from boarding the jet plane that will take us on our long awaited European adventure. Gus Gusteau is 9

This squishy, happy little fellow turned 9 this past Wednesday and I found myself traveling down memory lane, reflecting on who he was and who he is becoming. This picture captures his essence perfectly – he lives life to its absolute fullest, with a smile and a flash of intensity.
