Exactly seven months ago today, we bid farewell to Rome and to our Traveling Anderzoo European Adventure! With the closing post, I figured this blog would go radio silent until we embarked upon another summer adventure, but then . . . COVID-19 crashed down upon us and with it a new adventure, Schooling From Home (SFH). This past summer each of us traveled from country to country with one suitcase and one backpack, from hotel to house, from train to car, from church to museum, all five of us together.

Today, we are all together once again, but the scenery is much, much different. We are sheltering in place in our humble abode for the next 4 weeks, perhaps more. Both Joe and I are maintaining our work, albeit on a bit more flexible schedule, while also teaching all three kiddos in our newly renovated playroom, now known as the Anderson Family One Room Schoolhouse. Quite an adventure this will be, and I hope (along with our favorite guest writer) that this space, this medium, will be a great place to capture the ups and downs, the funny stories and all of the amazing things we’ll learn along the way. It won’t always be pretty or perfect, but it will be another chapter in the lives of the Traveling Anderzoo.
